Education

1984-1990 Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma City. Mr. McCurdy accepted a scholarship to attend Oklahoma State University. While there, Mr. McCurdy was honored each semester to be named to the Dean’s List and the President’s list. His studies focused on Engineering while he maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. Mr. McCurdy earned a nomination to the United States Air Force Academy in 1986.

1990-1991 University of Oklahoma, College of Arts and Sciences. Mr. McCurdy accepted another scholarship to attend the University of Oklahoma. While there, Mr. McCurdy was again honored each semester to be selected for the Dean’s List as well as the President’s List. Mr. McCurdy was a select member of the University Honors Program. While attending classes, Mr. McCurdy worked at the National Western Heritage Museum, where he worked for over 10 years, while also serving the University as a Teaching Assistant in the Business College, providing instruction and tutoring to underclassmen in Macro-Economic Theory. Mr. McCurdy was chosen as the sole representative from the University to discuss European Unification at the Student Conference on National Affairs (SCONA), at Texas A&M University. Mr. McCurdy’s minor field of study was Political Science. In 1990-91, Mr. McCurdy served as Treasurer of the alpha Oklahoma chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Honors Society in Economics. He also earned membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Mr. McCurdy was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Economics summa cum laude by the University of Oklahoma in 1991.

1991-1994 Oklahoma City University School of Law. Prior to his graduation from the University of Oklahoma in 1991, Mr. McCurdy received the prestigious Hatton W. Sumner National Scholarship to attend Oklahoma City University Law School (OCU), a private Methodist Law School. Mr. McCurdy accepted that scholarship, and enrolled at OCU. Mr. McCurdy’s legal studies emphasized Corporate and Business Formation, Employment Law, and Litigation. While attending law school full-time, Mr. McCurdy continued his work at the National Western Heritage Museum. Mr. McCurdy achieved the highest class rank in both Criminal Practice Seminar and Advanced Criminal Procedure at OCU. Mr. McCurdy was awarded the Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University Law School in May 1994.

Professional Experience

During his final year of law school, Mr. McCurdy earned his license to practice law as a Legal Intern and worked with the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division. At the District Attorney’s Office in 1993 and 1994, Mr. McCurdy prosecuted misdemeanors and felonies in both delinquent and deprived cases, and represented The People of the State of Oklahoma on appeals.

Mr. McCurdy established a successful law practice in Oklahoma City from 1994 to 1996. The McCurdy Law Office was located two miles from the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which was destroyed by a domestic terrorist bombing on April 19, 1995. Mr. McCurdy arrived at the scene before many of the rescue teams. The McCurdy Law Office “adopted” the Fire Station across the street from his law firm, and provided the firefighters with meals and comfort during the wearisome days that followed the explosion.

Mr. McCurdy was selected by the Oklahoma Bar Association as the Chairman of the Student Training and Employment Program (STEP) in 1995, which he had helped to create. STEP recruits law firms to hire high school students for summer employment, in an effort to expose students to the professional legal environment and promote business and community interaction. Mr. McCurdy received the “Chairperson of the Year” award in 1995 for his voluntary service to the community and the Oklahoma Bar Association.

From 1996 to 2000, Mr. McCurdy worked as an Associate Attorney and Managing Associate with a general practice law firm in the DTC area of metropolitan Denver. His practice concentrated on Employment and Business Law, with a strong emphasis on Litigation. In May 2000, Mr. McCurdy joined with Mr. Eichstadt to form McCurdy & Eichstadt, P.C.

Personal Profile

Mr. McCurdy was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised near Colorado Springs at the foothills of Pike’s Peak. Mr. McCurdy is a true Colorado native, enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, canoeing, golf, and skiing. Mr. McCurdy’s other interests include chess, fencing, and western art. Mr. McCurdy is a lifetime member of the National Western Heritage Museum, an organization dedicated to the preservation of the heritage of the Western United States.

Mr. McCurdy has three wonderful daughters. They enjoy the Rocky Mountains, sports of all kinds (especially the Denver Broncos), museums, and art shows.
